Adding your menu to your website
Add the Menju script to your site once, choose how guests open your menu, and verify it's live.
Once your menu is built and designed, you show it on your own website with two things: a small script you add to your site once, and one or more triggers — a button, banner, pop-up, or an existing element on your page — that open the menu when a guest interacts with them. This guide covers both.
Before you start: you'll need to be able to edit your website's HTML (or have someone who can). Saving script settings in Menju requires administrator access to the restaurant — see Managing your restaurant & team.
Step 1 — Add the Menju script to your website
Open Implement Menju Script and copy the snippet — it has your restaurant's id already
filled in. Paste it into the <head> section of your website. You only do this once —
after that, every change you make in Menju updates automatically without touching your site
again.

Step 2 — Verify the connection
On the same screen, under Verify Installation, click Test Connection. Menju checks your domain for the script:
- Script is connected — you're live. 🎉
- Try connect again — the script wasn't found on your domain. Double-check it's in the
<head>and saved/published on your site, then test again.
Step 3 — Choose how guests open your menu
In Script Configuration you set up the elements that open your menu. There are four types, and each has an activation toggle (Ready for activation? → This component is active), so you can turn on only the ones you want:

Button
A button you place anywhere on your site that opens the menu when clicked.
- How & Where — place it in a fixed place (one of four corners: top-left, top-right, bottom-left, bottom-right, with optional Fine Tune Position), or Append to HTML to drop it inside an existing element. You can also limit it to All Url Paths or Specific Url Paths.
- Look — text, text style, background and text colours, border (radius, style, width, colour), and size settings for Large Screen and Small Screen separately (padding, text size, text thickness).

Banner
A banner shown on your site to draw attention to your menu.
- How & Where — show it on All Url Paths or Specific Url Paths.
- Look — text, text alignment, text size and thickness, background and text colours, padding, and border.

Dialog window (pop-up)
A pop-up that opens automatically when a visitor lands on your page.
- How & Where — choose which URL paths it appears on.
- Delay — open Immediately, or After Seconds (up to 60) once the page loads.

The pop-up shows your menu using the design you set in Designing your menu.
Element (attach to an existing element)
Turn something you already have on your site — a link, an image, a menu item — into a trigger that opens your Menju menu.
- Select HTML Element — choose an attribute (Id or Name/Class) and enter its value to point Menju at the right element.
- Works on All Url Paths or Specific Url Paths, and you can add several target elements.
Scheduling when a trigger appears
Buttons, banners, and dialogs can each be scheduled:
- Always — shown at all times.
- Specific timeframe — set a Time Range (from/to time) and Select days here (Monday–Sunday). Perfect for showing a lunch button only during lunch hours.
Using templates
For buttons and banners, you don't have to start from scratch:
- Open Templates to pick from Your Templates (looks you've saved) or Menju's built-in templates, then click Select to apply one.
- Save As Template stores your current design under a Template Name so you can reuse it later.
Preview it on your own site
Use Preview to open your live website in a new tab with the component shown, so you can see exactly how it looks in place before you finish. If the component is limited to specific paths, you'll be asked which path to open first.
Good to know
- The script goes in your
<head>once — you never need to touch your site again to update the menu. - Saving script settings requires administrator access. Team members without admin rights can view and edit but can't save.
- Menju's built-in templates are ready to use; you create your own by saving a design as a template.
